Having taken over the building in September 2024, Martin and Ja extend a warm welcome to their guests. 

They are slowly (but surely) making improvements and we think you’ll agree, the beautiful red brick building is worth the investment.

We are also pleased to say our hotel is now AWARD WINNING!!  We hope you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay here and we welcome any suggestions to improve our customers’ experience.

Each of our 6 bedrooms, including a very spacious family room, is equipped with a luxurious bed, Nespresso coffee maker, underfloor heating and waterfall shower over a very large bath tub. Pure luxury, and the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring everything the beautiful Isle of Wight has to offer.

Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, Charter Guest House is in the perfect location, being in the historic county town of Newport and close to all mainland links and local public transport.

Our ground floor is home to our authentic Thai restaurant – Thai By Ja.  Open Monday to Thursday from 5pm until late, Friday and Saturday from midday until late and we offer a complimentary discount for hotel guests.  Details will be provided on arrival.
